Mario, Umberto’s first born son, married Dolores Frank in 1964 and took over the running of the hotel with her.
Franco was born in 1965 and later went on to study at the Scuola Alberghiera di Losanna (Hotel School of Lausanne), just as his father had.
In 1967 a final addition was made to the main structure of the hotel with more rooms added  and the garden facing the lake also enlarged. A small beach and the final garages were then built. This area once belonged to the Villa Anzini, which had been purchased by Umberto in 1956.
